A side channel blower (also known as a regenerative or ring blower) is a tough, oil-free air pump. It moves a large volume of air at a steady pressure or suction, runs relatively quietly, and has just one moving part, so it needs very little maintenance and tends to last for years.
With a small 0.55 kW motor, this is one of the more compact units in the range, moving up to 66 cubic metres of air per hour. It can blow air at up to 250 mbar of pressure or pull a vacuum of up to 250 mbar. As a rule of thumb, the bigger these numbers, the more push or pull the blower can deliver. It requires a three-phase industrial electrical supply.
As a single-stage blower, it favours a high, steady volume of airflow, which suits jobs where you need to move a lot of air continuously.
Typically used for: aeration of tanks, ponds and effluent treatment; vacuum lifting and hold-down on machinery; moving air on packaging, printing and conveying lines.
