A side channel blower (also known as a regenerative or ring blower) is a tough, oil-free air pump. It moves a large volume of air at a steady pressure or suction, runs relatively quietly, and has just one moving part, so it needs very little maintenance and tends to last for years.
A powerful 3.3 kW motor makes this a large, high-output machine, moving up to 165 cubic metres of air per hour. It can blow air at up to 480 mbar of pressure or pull a vacuum of up to 340 mbar. As a rule of thumb, the bigger these numbers, the more push or pull the blower can deliver. It requires a three-phase industrial electrical supply.
As a single-stage blower, it favours a high, steady volume of airflow, which suits jobs where you need to move a lot of air continuously.
Typically used for: aerating fish farms, ponds and wastewater treatment tanks; pneumatic conveying of powders and granules along pipework; supplying air to packaging and blown-film lines.
